Netcetera 3DS Directory Server features

The Netcetera Directory Server (DS) performs the basic function of routing 3-D Secure protocol requests and responses. The implementation ensures that all requests from 3-D Secure versions 2.1.0, 2.2.0 and 2.3.1 are handled according to the known specifications and implementation guidelines. All protocol versions (2.1.0, 2.2.0 and 2.3.1) are operated in parallel, as they may coexist for a considerable time.

The following diagram shows the three domains in the ecosystem and the participating components. The Directory Server component sits in the middle payment network domain and acts as a binding component between the two other domains, the issuing and the acquiring domain.
